Amanda's Bookshelf

I'm a culture junkie who works at a bookstore. Pop, high-brow, junk -- it's all good. I try and consume it all. I read tons, especially young adult fiction. I also love quirky, offbeat novels; cultural analysis; mythology; girly fiction; fantasy; screwball romantic comedies; books with extremely flawed characters, yet somehow you really empathize with them; nonlinear narratives and language play.

Greta and the Goblin King

Greta and the Goblin King - Chloe Jacobs I'm pretty sure the reason I enjoyed this so much as that when I think of Goblin Kings my mind automatically goes to David Bowie in Labyrinth... and I do have such fond memories of that movie (many that had no context until I was older; oh how that movie sexualized many a young girl during the 80's).I actually enjoyed this book, but I'm sure the connotations really helped it. I look forward to Book 2.
