Amanda's Bookshelf

I'm a culture junkie who works at a bookstore. Pop, high-brow, junk -- it's all good. I try and consume it all. I read tons, especially young adult fiction. I also love quirky, offbeat novels; cultural analysis; mythology; girly fiction; fantasy; screwball romantic comedies; books with extremely flawed characters, yet somehow you really empathize with them; nonlinear narratives and language play.

Enclave - Ann Aguirre I am absolutely fascinated about how much dystopian teen fiction is out there right now and I've been trying to read as much of as possible. A lot of it is really bad, but yet there are some that really suck me in. This is definitely part of the latter. I devoured this book and cannot wait for the next installment. Also, I really loved Deuce and Fade so far. I liked their interaction and their relationship, issues and all. I'm rooting for them individually and as a couple.
